Show Your Project Off To Kids at Code Day!
Geetings fellow IoTHackDay participants!
I wanted to let you all know about an event called "Code Day" going on Dec 10th at The Works. I particiapted in this event last year at it was a lot of fun to show kids what projects fellow IoT hackers like yourselves have created. Code Day is back again this year and if I can get a few of you to stop on by with your projects, IoTFuse will have a table again.
PLEASE EMAIL ME AT justin@iotfuse.com if you are available even for short period of time during the day to come on out and show off your project to a bunch of eager kids. Additionally, I would ask that you please spead the word about Code Day to everyone you know. It's a very fun event for kids from 5-12 years old, but really all ages would enjoy it. I hope to hear from you and you are able to support this event!

We’re planning our 2nd annual Code Day for December 10, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and invite you to join us to help get kids excited about computers and technology and showcase the vibrant Twin Cities community. Code Day is just one way we deliver our mission to inspire the next generation of innovators, engineers, and creative problem solvers.
2016 Goals – Let’s blow some minds together
Our pilot event was great, but we want to expand on last year’s success by delivering more to attendees and building attendance for the event. l and more fun to kids in our community. We want to create a transformative, inspirational experience for the families who participate, showing kids the power of coding
Event goal: To provide an opportunity for kids and families to learn about coding and all the different ways it's used. Visitors will also have access to unique coding experiences and resources. To that end, we're inviting corporate, education, and non-profit partners to join us as subject matter experts for the day.
Target audience: Families with kids ages 5-12. Attendees may include parents, grandparents, and younger/older siblings. We typically see 250-650 visitors on event days, largely weather-dependent.
What to expect as a participating presenter:
· Please bring something interactive such as a kid-friendly demo and/or activity that helps elementary-age students experience coding and see how it's used to make cool things happen.
· If your demonstration works better as a large-group presentation or "show", we can also work with that format.
· Be ready to talk about how you use coding/technology and how it powers what you do - expect lots of questions from curious kids!
· You can display promotional materials at your table and hand out branded items, if desired. We’ll also provide attendees with an event program listing all presenting organizations.
